Yara lives with her Albanian father and her three siblings in Hamburg. Besides her job at a small supermarket, she has to take care of the household and spends time with her group of friends. When she meets the young rebel girl Kiki, everything changes all of a sudden. While Yara discovers an unfamiliar freedom in the new relationship, Kiki learns to belong to someone for the first time. But no one may find out about their love, especially not Yara’s conservative father who already chose a future husband for her. When their romance is discovered anyway, the two rob a betting shop and flee from Yara’s family and the cops… Director Ali Hakim tells the touching story of two girls who have to leave everything behind for their love to have a chance – just like their cinematic role models Bonnie and Clyde.
